To say this is so short, it really packs a punch and I really enjoyed it. It's the start of a new series which is focusing in on May to December romances, one of my favourite tropes. Here we're in the world of Mixed Martial Arts with hot World Champion Zeke and the younger brother of his dead best friend who he promised to look after. As I said, it's short but effective and seriously sexy. This was a cute short read based on misunderstanding and fear of rejection. I liked the premise, the plot though not complicated at all appealed to me at the time of reading. Their closeness is apparent, their passion is almost too desperate but they still are in the fog. So a good Samaritan and mutual friend Maverick decides to help the couple along by stirring Zeke's possessive instincts. It both has positive results and messed up consequences as no one is brave enough to speak about their feelings out loud. So from then on it's drama but I loved it anyway! When those two are together they burn the sheets, but make me sigh when they finally confess their love. Two years is long enough, guys, thank you! They are happy, I am happy for them and moving on to the next book!

3.5 Stars This was a nice quickie, helping me get out of my book-funk. There wasn't a lot of character development but I thought there was enough background info to get into their story. Zeke and Korey were sweet together, but it was kind of aggravating the way that everything played out. Maverick seemed like an interesting character and I like the chapter from his POV, I'm sure it was meant to get everyone interested in his story, and it definitely worked on me. Lol!

This was a pretty good start to a series. Yeah, it had some issues and was way too short to delve too deeply into these two guys complicated history, but I do love a growly, alpha mma fighter, and Zeke fits the bill. For those interested...this has no daddy kink. Just a regular old age-gap. :) Next one's out soon on KU.

A short, sweet, hawt intro to the series. Well written. I enjoyed. Note that there is no Daddy kink here. Even the sugar daddy angle is kind of just on the periphery. Yes, Zeke is wealthy and pays all the bills, and Korey is a college student who lives with him due to his deceased brother's friendship with Zeke, but there is no real spoiling, and the money angle isn't used as a central part of the romance. The title of 'sugar daddy' is misleading IMO. I also agree with the reviewer who said that A short, sweet, hawt intro to the series. Well written. I enjoyed. Note that there is no Daddy kink here. They're grown men...yet they did this and didn't know there was an attraction?? I'm very much looking forward to Book 2! Hopefully there is more of the sugar and/or Daddy angle since the book will most likely be longer. It's weird to have a sugar daddy series that is NOT on my Daddy kink or even my sugar daddy shelf. Really, it's just an m/m romance where one has alot of money. 3.5*

I know it's only an introduction to the series, but it still felt far too short for me. I finished the book barely knowing anything about the characters that wasn't stated in the blurb, and I had no sense of attachment to their relationship at all. The writing was also choppy. Every sentence felt so short. Barely any complex sentences. Just like this. My goodness, it was sort of the simplistic writing that I can't stand, and the entire story could've used more conjunctions and complex sentences. DNF. This is probably a strong case of it's me, not the book but I just couldn't get into it. Once I got to the habitual lapsitting part I just knew that I was not going to be able to get into them as friends with long denied feelings.

Sugar Fighter is a pretty quick read and a good introduction to this series. It does have a bit of angst going on, and the main characters of Zeke and Korey are definitely flawed, but this story gives readers a good taste of the May/December romance dynamic even if it did leave me wanting more about both Zeke and Korey. Zeke is the older, successful one of this pairing, and though he’s attracted to Korey he has held himself back from acting on it since he’s in the position of taking care of Korey at the request of Korey’s late brother. Korey is just as attracted to Zeke, but also hasn’t acted on it yet. You know it’s just a matter of time until they both cave; but once they do that’s when the angst and tension sets in. I did get a little frustrated with both of them once they finally gave in to each other, each for different reasons (though I’m going to have to leave that as a tease because if I don’t, it will be a spoiler), they both did respond to each other a bit more extremely than I would have expected (hence my frustration). Even so, I was still very happy with how the story ended. And though with shorter books like this one I always clamor for more—I’m a greedy reader when it comes to short stories and novellas and always want the authors to expand on them—the author does do a good job of telling a full story in this shorter length book. My interest was also piqued for Maverick’s story (a supporting character here), so I can’t wait to get started on the rest of the series. Sugar Fighter gets 4 stars from me, and I’d recommend this book for anyone who likes age-gap M/M romance. This story is meant for readers 18+ for adult language and sexual content.

Having moved to a new state where he didn’t know anyone just before, he was surprised that his brother’s best friend Zeke stepped up and offered him a place to stay so he could continue school…..He had plenty of money and plenty of room, and he’d promised to look after Charlie’s little brother. Zeke was a professional MMA fighter and a good one at that. He had more money than he knew what to do with, so it allowed him to take care of Korey; and he loved doing it. He had feelings for Korey and wanted to be the one that he relied on. Korey was in the same boat, but never imagined Zeke would return his feelings. That was, until hiding their feelings was too much on both of them and they finally gave into each other. Should’ve been great, right? But of course it wouldn’t be that easy…. Zeke reacted badly and Korey got his feelings hurt, and the more Zeke messed up, the more he didn’t know how to fix it. I really felt for Korey, who hasn’t had that one unrequited love? It’s the most painful feeling to know that your heart is with someone and then them not feel the same way. Of course, Zeke did, but it took a while for him to admit it to not only himself but to Korey. With the help of Maverick, though…. They got there. Overall, it was a short and sweet read… I’m looking forward to Maverick’s story… he deserves someone amazing. I have a feeling his story will be just as bittersweet. 4 stars from me!

The Blogger Girls I am not normally a reader of short novellas, nor of May-December romances, however Sugar Fighter called to me. I do love the idea of an MMA fighter being the older guy. Korey is a medical school student who has been silently in love with his benefactor. What he doesn’t realize is that Zeke has been silently in love with him, too. Like I said, this is a short story, one that can be read in one sitting, but the relationship between Zeke and Korey was easily portrayed. I felt nothing was missing or left on the table. It could have easily been turned into a full length novel, but it was a nice ice-breaker on what is in store with this series. For me, it worked. It is nice to get a pretty well-fleshed out short story sometimes without wallowing in the angst and misery. Yes, Zeke and Korey have a moment of discontent, but it was resolved quickly and I ended this story well satisfied. Overall Impression: I really liked it!

Sugar Fighter is a quick, enjoyable, and hot m/m read. The two main guys already know (and have feelings for) each other, so nothing feeling rushed or insta. Just a steamy read that also gives a quick look into the next couple, which I'm definitely interested in reading! As a reader, I can get a bit squeamish about Daddy stories but this one is pitched just right. The age gap isn’t too crazy and Korey easily holds his own in the relationship. I have to say even though this was not a very long read, it was still a very good read. There was longing, heartache, and even love in this book. I really enjoyed this read. What neither man realizes is they both have feelings for the other. But of course both men have their reasons as to why they have never acted on it. Korey thinks that Zeke is not interested in him in the same way. Zeke believes that not only is he to old for Korey but Korey does not know everything about his past. Zeke worries that Korey will not accept what he did in the past so he will not allow himself to consider telling Zeke how he feels. A kink is thrown at Zeke when his training buddy Maverick starts to show interest in Korey. To say that he is upset about it is an understatement. So in a moment of weakness Zeke allows himself and Korey to get carried away in the heat of the moment. Now things have been ruined between the two of them. There is a distance between them that has never been here before and neither Zeke or Korey knows how to get things back on track between them. Or at least find a common ground? Or is their relationship ruined forever? This was a great read. I enjoyed it very much. Will the risk of going from friends to lovers really be worth another possible loss? I think you know my answers to these questions: you'll have to read to find out because I don't do spoilers. But trust me, you'll enjoy discovering Zeke and Korey's journey in this little gem set in the middle of the MMA world. Could Fighter been even better if we had a little more build-up and backstory? Sure, but sometimes short and fast-paced is all that's needed. Sugar Fighter was fun, entertaining, put a smile on my face, and I can't ask for anything more when reading a story, short or long. Definitely one to check out.

I really liked this novella introducing us to the Sugar Daddies series by Charity Parkerson. It was well-written and so very engaging. In just a few short chapters, I found myself completely invested in Zeke and Korey finding their HEA and understanding the tensions and obstacles they had to overcome to get there. I think what surprised me most about this novella is how deeply I felt each MC’s emotions and motivations. Yes, there are sexy times, which are well-written, by the way. But more importantly, there were some truly impactful emotional moments and very meaningful dialogue. This is one of those books that you don’t ever want to end. I could read this author’s style and about Zeke and Korey for a while. So well done and what a great beginning to this series! *** Copy provided to Bayou Book Junkie for my reading pleasure, a review wasn't a requirement. ***

Everything about this book feels extremely rushed, and unfortunately it's not well-written. The whole Sugar Daddy dynamic is practically non-existent, so the title of the series is very misleading. There's also no Daddy Kink on this, which is unfortunate. The sex is not good and very disappointing. There's a lot of overly sweet lines, which can totally work and contribute to the book when it's done in the right times, in the right tone, but it just doesn't work here. I learned that doesn't matter at all how unreal a story and it's circunstances are. It's always the writer's job to make the readers genuinely believe in what they are reading. It's not an easy task and this doesn't happen here. Really good idea that could have been way better written. If the sex and the dynamic between them was good enough to compensate everything else I would have given one more star.

3 stars. This has a lot of elements that I love. Older guy/younger guy relationship, friends to lovers, sugar daddies. These are buzzwords I enjoy but this was entirely too short for everything to be implemented well. The characters, Zeke and Korey were okay but I really hated the miscommunication that breaks them up. It was really, really dumb and could’ve easily been solved if the characters would’ve just opened their damn mouths. As annoying as that was, the ending was good and I like that thi 3 stars. Overall, not a horrible read but could've been better. I’ll continue with the series though because I can definitely see the potential.

Sugar Fighter is a fantastic start of a new series, Sugar Daddies, by Charity Parkerson. Zeke took in his best friend, Charlie's younger brother, Korey, after Charlie is killed. Zeke has the means and the money to take care of Korey and helps him out while Korey's in school. One problem though, both men are attracted to each other. Zeke has been avoided making a move, feeling he shouldn't take advantage of his friend's younger brother. Reading Sugar Fighter has me left excited about the rest of the series. I can't wait to see what else Charity Parkerson comes up with in this new and exciting world.

Love this Oh my. What a hot and mind blowing read. My first book by Charity. It was so good and full of hot sex scenes and romance. So much sugar and spice between the pages. Will they come out fighting or go their separate ways? Will Zeke become Korey's sugar daddy? I sure hope so.
